Abstract:

Examination of 1068 medical university students revealed overweight and obesity in 15% of cases. Among the first-year students and interns, the men versus the women were found to have overweight and first-degree obesity with a predominance of nutrition errors despite a more pronounced physical activity. 75% of the students had at least one behavioral risk factor (RF), 23% had one objective metabolic RF (overweight or obesity, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, hyperglycemia), and 25% had one of the chronic diseases. Only 8.4% of the respondents were on a balanced diet. It is necessary to set up a student health center with appropriate medical equipment for organizational and preventive, educational-methodical and scientific work in the medical education environment.
