The ATHEROGEN-IVANOVO trial is Russia's first large study using the exome sequencing aimed to investigate the specific features of the development and pattern of atherosclerosis at various sites (coronary, carotid, and femoral arteries) in a cohort prospective study. This paper presents the design of the study, the algorithms of a bioinformation analysis, and the results of examination of pilot group patients. The performed analysis of the results of sequencing of 50 exomes in the pilot group patients is directed at processing the parameters of the bioinformation analysis and determining the number of potentially significant genetic markers. It is shown that about 10% of the exome mutations in the pilot group patients can be considered as potential markers for the development of atherosclerosis.
