Uterine fibroids (UF) are the most common benign tumors of the female reproductive system. In recent years, the incidence of UF has increased significantly in young women who have not yet realized their childbearing function, and the peak of its occurrence falls on the perimenopausal period. In this regard, minimally invasive, organ-preserving techniques, including laparoscopic myomectomy, are of particular relevance. The most controversial point in its use is the extraction of tissues through small trocar openings using morcellation, which is associated with the risk of dissemination of the tumor process. Iatrogenic parasitic fibroids develop by seeding preserved small fragments of tissue after morcellation into the abdominal cavity. According to the literature, the overall incidence of parasitic fibroids after laparoscopic surgery using morcellation ranges from 0.12 to 0.95%. A description of a rare case of parasitic uterine fibroids localized on the sigmoid colon is presented. Prevention of the development of morcellomas consists in careful delineation of tissues during morcellation, preliminary selection of patients, anti-relapse therapy of uterine fibroids.
