Abstract:

The mammary gland is a paired organ of the female reproductive system, the main function of which is lactation. Benign diseases of the mammary glands in 75—95% of cases are combined with various benign gynecological diseases. The most common benign disease of the mammary glands is benign mammary dysplasia, the frequency of which in the female population is about 50%. Some forms of benign breast disease, such as atypical hyperplasia, are associated with an increased risk of developing breast cancer later in life. The purpose of this review is to determine the role of screening and prevention of malignancy of benign breast lesions at the stage of primary specialized care to reduce morbidity and mortality.
