Endometriosis is one of the most common gynecological diseases in women of reproductive age. Lots of studies show that the eutopic and ectopic endometrium from patients with endometriosis has a number of molecular and biological features. Changes in expression of various receptors and biologically active substances involved in the processes of inflammation, apoptosis, proliferation, adhesion, neuro- and angiogenesis, as well as the immune response is known to be in patients with endometriosis. The relationship between genes, miRNAs and receptors in the eutopic and ectopic endometrium from patients with endometriosis was studied in detail in a number of researches. Howewer, until now there is no consensus regarding the role of the molecular biological profile of the endometrium in the pathogenesis of endometriosis. This literature review was performed by analyzing scientific reviews and original articles published in Russian and English in the bibliographic databases PubMed, eLIBRARY, CyberLeninka, Google Scholar from 1998 to 2021. Thus, further study of the morfofunctional and genetic features of the eutopic and ectopic endometrium from patients with endometriosis will provide new approaches to diagnosis and personified pathogenetically substantiated treatment.
