In recent years, endometriosis is recognized as one of the most common gynecological diseases associated with female infertility. The mechanisms of the influence of deep infiltrative endometriosis on the reproductive potential are still not fully understood. Currently, there is no single algorithm when choosing the first line of treatment for patients with infertility and colorectal endometriosis. The opinions of various authors on the impact of surgical treatment of endometriosis on improving fertility are mixed. In this connection, the decision on the need for and scope of surgical treatment should be made after carefully informing patients about all the benefits and risks associated with both surgical intervention and refusal of surgery.
