The review presents modern concepts of the role of uric acid in the pathogenesis of preeclampsia, the results of the study of its rates in hypertensive disorders during pregnancy, as well as the rationale for the use of uric acid as a marker of preeclampsia and its complications. The studying of indicators dynamics of uric acid in gestational hypertension will reveal the potentialities for early diagnosis of preeclampsia and improve the quality of its treatment.
