Objective — to investigate the relationship between TCS exposure, measured on semen and semen quality of men. Material and methods. We measured semen TCS concentrations of 41 men from a reproductive health clinic by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC-MS). According to WHO guidelines (WHO laboratory manual for the examination and processing of human semen — 5th edition), we divided our patients into 2 groups: normozoospermia and patozoospermia. To estimate the risk of subfertility we used Mann—Whitney U-test, method of matched regression, correlation analysis and analysis of ROC-curves to find out the point of cut-off for TCS on human semen. A p-value less than 0.05 was considered significant. Results. TCS was detected in 85.4% of semen samples with a median concentration of 0.16 ng/ml. Seminal TCS was positively associated with DNA fragmentation index (r=0.349; р=0.040) by r-Pearson. Using Spearman rank correlation we found significant association with percentage of progressively motile spermatozoa (p=0.049), count of progressively motile spermatozoa (p=0.037), percentage of normal morphology (p=0,004) and percentage of DNA fragmentation spermatozoa (р<0.001). Conclusion. Semen TCS concentrations may negatively contribute to the final state of sperm quality.
