Preeclampsia remains one of the topical problems in obstetrics, which is determined by the high rates of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. This review outlines the issues of placentation in physiological pregnancy and preeclampsia, as well as the value of oxidative stress in the development of defective placentation in preeclampsia.
