Objective. To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of dienogest 2 mg ( Visanne ) in patients with diagnosed endometriosis. Methods. The clinical and laboratory examination and the treatment of 53 patients with external endometriosis was performed. As the primary treatment all patients had operative laparoscopy. Study group consisted of 33 patients who received daily 2 mg of dienogest (Visannne) after surgery. The control group included 20 patients without any postoperative hormonal therapy. Results. The pelvic pain disappeared in 100% of patients from the study group after one month of treatment with Visanne. The normal menstrual cycle restoration was observed in 32 (97%) patients in 1.5-2 months after finishing of hormonal treatment whereas in control group the pelvic pain and dysmenorrhea recurred in 6 and 9 months after the operative treatment. Conclusions. Dienogest (Visanne) is a highly effective drug of choice in the treatment of external endometriosis confirmed by laparoscopy.
