Autoimmune antibodies can cause premature ovarian failure (POF) and poor ovarian response (POR) in IVF programs. POF is a failure of adequate ovarian response to standard superovulation stimulation protocols, and contributes to low efficiency of IVF programs. POR can be considered as an early stage of autoimmune form of POF. Ovarian tissue damage can cause production of various forms of antiovarian antibodies: antibodies to zona pellucida, antibodies to FSH, antibodies to steroid-producing ovarian tissue. Antiovarian antibodies can be independent factors of autoimmune ovarian failure. The role of autoimmune antibodies in poor ovarian response on the basis of systematic literature review is discussed.
