OBJECTIVE

To analyze quality and appearance of facial skin after a course of biorevitalization procedures using the FACE-Q™ scale, as well as to compare these data with effectiveness of various cosmetic procedures.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

A prospective study involved 20 patients (18 women and 2 men) aged 35—65 years with signs of skin aging. Patients underwent a course of facial skin biorevitalization procedures (gels of native hyaluronic acid with trehalose). Self-assessment of baseline and post-procedural state of facial skin was performed using the FACE-QTM Satisfaction With Skin. In addition, patients were asked to estimate their apparent age at each visit.

RESULTS

Facial skin biorevitalization procedures with unstabilized hyaluronic acid and trehalose increased the FACE-Q Satisfaction With Skin score by 46.89%. This result is comparable with effects of injections of stabilized hyaluronic acid, platelet-rich fibrin, botulinum therapy and injection facial contouring (literature data). About 70% of participants reported the effect of facial rejuvenation (decrease of apparent age) after biorevitalization procedures.

CONCLUSIONS

In this study, the FACE-QTM Satisfaction With Skin questionnaire was used for the first time in the Russian Federation to evaluate the results of facial skin biorevitalization procedures. We observed high patient satisfaction with treatment outcomes regarding skin state and apparent age.
