Abstract Background. Currently, there is no uniform classification and standardized verification methods for «sensitive skin» syndrome (SSS). Therefore, the choice of optimal injection strategies and rehabilitation methods are difficult in these patients. Material and methods. There were 103 patients aged 35—55 years under surveillance. Unexplained discomfort and increased skin sensitivity within the facial area were noted in 52 women without visible clinical manifestations. Control group consisted of 51 patients with resistant skin. The results were evaluated using international scales and indices: BSTI, VAS, FACE-Q and HADS. Results. S2, S3 subtypes of sensitivity and skin phototypes I, II were predominant in patients with SSS. There was a direct correlation between skin sensitivity type I and subtype S2 in 76.5% of patients (p<0.001). Significant diagnostic criteria for patients with SSS are increased sensitivity (98.1%) and dry skin (75.0%), thin skin (76.9%), early stable red diffuse dermotographism (80.8%), high bilateral skin reactivity in patch application test (96.2%) (p<0.001), low threshold of pain sensitivity (92.3%) (p<0.05). Significant anxiety, low facial satisfaction and quality of life are observed in 61.5% of patients with SSS (p<0.001).
