Objective: to determine the role of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the diagnosis of peritoneal dissemination in ovarian cancer (OC) patients with an established biochemical recurrence during a follow-up after specialized antitumor treatment. Subjects and methods. The investigation included 31 patients aged 44 to 69 years (mean age, 53±5.12 years), with an established biochemical (marker) recurrence, who had been examined in November 2014 to May 2016 and undergone specialized treatment for primary OC at the P.A. Herzen Miscow Oncology Research Institute in December 2011 to February 2014. The informative value of MRI for only the diagnosis of peritoneal dissemination was evaluated. During examinations, all the patients underwent abdominal and pelvic MRI using Vintage Titan 1.5T MR (Toshiba MS), 16-element Atlas Speeder Body Coil, and 32-element Atlas Speeder Spine Coil. All recurrences detected by MRI were compared with histological findings. Results. The investigation demonstrates the high levels of diagnostic efficiency of MRI in evaluating peritoneal dissemination in OC patients with an established marker recurrence. The informative value of MRI was as follows: accuracy, 87%; sensitivity, 88%; specificity, 80%; ПРПР, 96%, and ПРОР, 57%. (просьба расшифровать). Conclusion. MRI may be the method of choice for diagnosis of peritoneal lesion in the progression of ovarian cancer; therefore this technique is desirable for monitoring OC patients with poor prognostic factors after antitumor therapy and with an established biochemical recurrence.
