Abstract:

The paper describes a clinical case of schwannoma, one of the rarest nonepithelial tumors of the stomach. Comprehensive preoperative examination could assume the nonepithelial and benign pattern of the tumor. Its pathomorphological verification is made difficult by the similarity of schwannomas with gastrointestinal stromal tumors. Immunohistochemical examinations play a leading role in differential diagnosis.
