The paper presents the results of an analysis of the quality of the Federal Cancer Registry database. The databases of 12 regional cancer registers operating in the cancer institutions of the subjects of the Russian Federation were selected to calculate rates. Five-year survival rates were analyzed in male and female patients with melanoma at different sites in 2003—2008; the rate was calculated by a direct method. Adjusted overall survival rates were estimated by an actuarial method.
