Abstract:

To anesthetize and maintain skeletal supporting function are important factors to preserve quality of life in patients with vertebral metastases and hemangiomas. The paper gives the results of treatment in patients with metastatic involvement and hemangiomas of the vertebral column, by applying conventional radiotherapy, percutaneous vertebroplasty, and a combination of the techniques (in vertebral metastases). The findings suggest the high efficiency of percutaneous vertebroplasty as the only treatment option for vertebral hemangiomas and an important component in the combination treatment of vertebral metastases.
