Abstract:

The paper describes the state-of-the-art of surgical treatment in patients with non-small-cell lung carcinoma (NSLC). The immediate and late results of surgical and combination treatmentы are analyzed in 1420 patients, by taking into account the size of a primary tumor, the state of regional intrathoracic lymph node metastatic areas, and the histological subtype of NSLC. The frequency and pattern of postoperative complications and mortality rates are shown. Indications for the volume of surgical care and adjuvant tumor treatment are characterized. Prognostic factors influencing survival are identified.
