Vitamin D is a molecule with multiple endocrine, paracrine, and autocrine effects on multiple tissues and organs. It has the effect of maintaining calcium-phosphorus homeostasis and plays a key role in the Development of Diseases such as rickets, osteomalacia and osteoporosis. At the same time, vitamin D can have biological effects far beyond the skeleton — in the Development of various endocrine Diseases with Different pathogenesis, such as type 1 and 2 diabetes mellitus, obesity, thyroid Disease, etc. This review examines the issues of metabolism and laboratory characteristics. Determination of vitamin D in the blood. The analysis of modern literature on the role of vitamin D in endocrine Diseases is carried out.
