BACKGROUND

We present the results of our studies on the effectiveness of a liposomal cosmetic line with Dorogov’s antiseptic stimulant (DAS) in treating psoriasis, chronic eczema, and seborrheic dermatitis.

OBJECTIVE

To evaluate the effectiveness of DAS-based cosmetic line products in the complex topical treatment of chronic dermatoses.

MATERIALS AND METHODS

DAS has been used for 60 years in dermatology. This cosmetic line contains it as an active ingredient. The new liposomal technologies used in producing these cosmetic products fully meet the standards of modern topical therapy. The study included 40 patients (35 males and 5 females), including 20 patients with psoriasis, 10 with chronic eczema, and 10 with seborrheic dermatitis, mainly involving the scalp.

RESULTS

In treating psoriasis and chronic eczema, we used a balm for problem-prone skin of the face and body and for seborrheic dermatitis — a balm for dry scalp. As a result, the PASI decreased by 42.5%, and the quality of life index (DLQI) decreased from 11.7 to 2.8 in psoriasis patients during the treatment. Clinical recovery was observed in 56% of patients with chronic eczema of the hands; in the rest of the patients, clinical improvement was reported. On day 21 of the seborrheic dermatitis treatment, the cure was reported in 68% of patients, and a significant clinical improvement in the rest.

CONCLUSION

These products have high efficacy and safety in treating exacerbations of chronic dermatoses and in basic skin care, which contributes to the maintenance of remission.
