MATERIAL AND METHODS

20 patients with moderately psoriasis in progressive stage (PASI 24.4±2.1) were under clinical observation. A special cream containing 5% urea, canola oil, shea butter, Inca Inchi butter, panthenol and allantoin once a day on the foci were added to the complex therapy for 10 days. On the 1^st and 10^th days of treatment the clinical efficacy in all patients, a clinical examination of the lesions was carried out and the PASI was determined.

RESULTS

By the 10^th day of therapy, 5 (25%) patients showed significant improvement, and 15 (75%) patients showed just improvement in clinical status. In order to achieve clinical recovery after active inflammation elimination, it is required to continue therapy with external agents to regenerate the epidermis and restore the epidermal barrier.

CONCLUSION

The inclusion of emollients in the complex therapy of psoriasis has a high clinical efficacy as well as a favorable safety profile in patients with psoriasis.
