Based on the analysis of clinical recommendations and medical care standards for patients with recurrent forms of herpes simplex (HS), options for therapeutic approaches to treating exacerbations of the infection are considered. Shown the advantage of choosing interferon therapy as a pathogenetically substantiated drug when evaluating the effectiveness of acyclic synthetic nucleosides and alpha-2b-recombinant interferons in combination with antioxidants at the height of the exacerbation of the herpes virus process. We analyzed our own experience with the use of various doses of alpha-2b-recombinant interferon in combination with antioxidants in stopping the different in severity clinical manifestations of HS. Proposed individual approach to the administration of alpha-2b-recombinant interferon in combination with antioxidants at a dose of 1 million, 2 million and 3 million IU, depending on the frequency of exacerbations of HS. The results of studies after the end of therapy showed that in all groups the terms of relieving recurrences decreased on average by 5—7 days, there was also a positive trend towards the normalization of immunological parameters. An analysis of the data obtained indicated a significantly pronounced positive effect in patients receiving the drug at a daily dose of 2 million and 3 million IU.
