Abstract:

Facial contour plasty is rather widely used in modern plastic surgery to remove and correct congenital, acquired deformities and age-related changes in soft tissues or aesthetic disproportions. Needs for facial contour plasty were revealed among patients having aesthetic problems. The complications and side effects after facial contour injection plasty and their causes were analyzed. Analysis of the complications led to the conclusion that their smaller number is associated with the response of the adjacent tissues to an injected agent, their larger number is related to a medical error due to the use of the agent, if not indicated, to the wrong estimation of a correction area, to the violation of administration techniques, and to the unallowable injection of gel into the area previously corrected with a permanent filler.
