Abstract:

Cutaneous malignant neoplasms are the fourth most widespread conditions in the structure of oncological diseases accounting for 9.8% of the total number of cases. Of particular concern is skin melanoma due to its aggressive character and unfavourable prognosis. This papear was designed to overview the literature data on epidemiology, etiology, pathogenesis, diagnostic criteria, and approaches to the prevention of skin melanoma.
