Abstract:

Traumatic aortic injury represents a critical life-threatening condition characterized by high mortality rates. This pathology ranks as the second leading cause of death among patients with polytrauma surpassed only by blunt traumatic brain injury. High mortality rate is attributed to significant risk of massive bleeding, hemorrhagic shock, and subsequent multiple organ failure resulting from aortic disruption. These factors collectively contribute to extremely poor prognosis in the absence of timely and appropriate treatment. This article presents successful management of a patient with post-traumatic aortic injury combined with tricuspid insufficiency. The authors demonstrate effective hybrid approach.
