A comparative analysis of the results of hybrid and open simultaneous interventions for concomitant atherosclerotic lesion of the coronary and carotid vascular beds was performed. 141 patients with combined occlusive-stenotic lesions of coronary and carotid vessels were operated for the period from January 2010 to December 2013. Patients were divided into two groups. The first group consisted of 121 patients who underwent one-stage coronary artery bypass grafting and carotid endarterectomy. The second group included 20 patients after appropriate hybrid operations. For individual parameters severity of clinical characteristics of patients in the hybrid intervention group was statistically higher. Results were analyzed in terms of up to 30 days after surgery. It was observed a significantly lower rate of intensive care unit stay after surgery and overall postoperative hospital-stay in the group of hybrid interventions. The groups were comparable according to incidence of some complications such as stroke, myocardial infarction, fatal outcomes. But the overall frequency of these complications was significantly greater for the group of open interventions, despite the fact that hybrid operations were performed in patients with more severe status. It was concluded that in patients with high risk of complications during surgery (EuroSCORE 10) hybrid technique can be considered as an alternative.
