Abstract:

Results of surgical treatment were analyzed in 11 patients with postinfarction rupture of interventricular septum. Problems of diagnostics, estimation of terms for surgical treatment and intensive care before the operation are discussed. Surgical approach aimed for complete correction of all structural cardiac disturbances (closure of postinfarction interventricular septum rupture, surgical recontruction of left ventricle for restoration of it's optimal geometric form, correction of atrioventricular valvular insufficiency, coronary bypass grafting) is presented. Principles of treatment in postopeative period are stated. Long-term results of surgical treatment were analyzed. Rational tactics of managment is proposed for patients with postinfarction interventricular septum ruptures.
