Objective is to investigate and evaluate the possibilities of the modified breast surgery method — robotic radical subcutaneous mastectomy — in a treatment of the breast cancer.

MATERIALS AND METHODS

There are 15 cases of histologically verified breast cancer I—IIA stages results of robotic surgery have been analyzed. All patients received surgical treatment at the breast oncology department of the A.S. Loginov Moscow Clinical Scientific Center. Robot-assisted radical subcutaneous mastectomies with simultaneous endo-prosthetics have been completed in each case.

RESULTS

All of the 15 patients appreciated cosmetic results of robotic surgery as «good» and «excellent». Robot-assisted radical subcutaneous mastectomy with simultaneous endo-prosthetics has proven to be a feasible and safe method.

CONCLUSION

Robot-assisted radical subcutaneous mastectomy is a safe and radical method that can be effectively used in the surgery of early breast cancer.
