Abstract:

In the paper authors retrospectively analyze case histories of 92 patients (from January 1995 to December 2012), in whom according to the surgery torsion and necrosis of epiploic appendices were revealed, the strands of the greater omentum, preperitoneal lipomas. Clinical and laboratory data in patients with torsion and necrosis of abdominal fatty structures are poor and non-specific, which makes it difficult to diagnose preoperatively. Laparoscopy is the main diagnostic tool for these diseases and allows establishing the correct diagnosis in 97.8% of cases. Laparoscopic treatment in torsion and necrosis of abdominal fatty structures may be formed in 93.3% of cases and have several advantages over laparotomy. Necessity of conversion reaches 6.7%.
