OBJECTIVE

To analyze post-traumatic tendon reparation under original bioactive concentrate of small marine fish («Alflutop»).

MATERIAL AND METHODS

The study included 60 sexually mature outbred white rats divided into two groups (experimental and control). Gastrocnemius muscle tendon was damaged by longitudinal traction with a Billroth forceps after preliminary anesthesia with zoletil. Daily intramuscular injection of «Alflutop» 0.05 ml was carried out in 30 animals of the experimental group. Morphological and morphometric examination was performed in 10, 20 and 30 days after injury.

RESULTS

Experimental group was characterized by less inflammation early after injury. Synthesis of collagen fibers and their ordered arrangement occurred earlier in the same group. Bioactive concentrate ensured more synchronous reparative process. After 30 days, we observed tendon-like tissue within the damaged zone in the experimental group. This tissue was represented by longitudinal collagen fiber, this structure resembled previous tendon without restoration of elastic elements. According to morphometric data, there were significant between-group differences in the ratio of cellular and fibrous structures that confirmed activation of reparative post-traumatic process.

CONCLUSION

Original bioactive concentrate of small marine fish improves reparative process after post-traumatic tendon injury due to anti-inflammatory effect and activation of organizing the cell proliferate.
