To evaluate the effect of inhalation of heated oxygen-helium mixture on the acid-base state (ABS) of the organism, microcirculation and repair processes in the zone of postoperative suture on the uterus after myomectomy.
In 2021—2022, 30 females aged 25—45 years after laparotomy after myomectomy received inhalations of heated oxygen-helium mixture for 10 min once a day for 5 days. It is known that this technique is used to treat patients with diseases of cardiovascular, nervous, respiratory systems, especially in severe lung damage by COVID-19 coronavirus infection.
Evaluation of Doppler parameters of the operation zone (uterine suture area) and blood ABS on the background of treatment showed statistically significant decrease in CO2 concentration from 35.69 to 34.52 mmHg (p<0.039) and increase in O2 concentration from 7.77 to 71.4 mmHg (p<0.0001) with a marked uterotonic effect. Peak blood flow velocity increased on average from 11.93 to 18.62 cm/s (p<0.0001) and diastolic blood flow velocity increased from 4.92 to 7.56 cm/s (p<0.0022). No adverse events associated with the use of the drug were reported.
Improved indices of hemodynamics, blood oxygenation, uterotonic effect contributed to the elimination of ischemia in the area of surgery due to the normalization of microcirculation and tissue oxygenation, which promoted safe reparation of the surgical intervention zone.
