The article describes the clinical observation of a complicated course of pregnancy in a 38-year-old patient with chorioangioma (placenta hemangioma), which led to an unfavorable perinatal outcome. An analysis of domestic and foreign literature shows that in most cases, the chorioangioma remains asymptomatic and may become an accidental finding after delivery upon examination of the afterbirth. The nature of the course of pregnancy and the outcome of chorioangioma depend primarily on the size of the tumor. Extremely rare large tumors with signs of hypervascularization can lead to the formation of a pathological vascular shunt, impaired functional status of the fetus and newborn (polycythemia or anemia, hyper- or hypovolemia, ventriculomegaly, heart failure in the fetus, etc.), the development of acute polymorphism, premature birth, and other complications.
