Abstract:

Objective — to correct menstrual dysfunction in reproductive-aged patients with autoimmune thyroiditis by thyroid exposure to infrared laser radiation. Subject and methods. Examinations were made in 180 women of reproductive age (20—35 years) with autoimmune thyroiditis concurrent with different levels of a decrease in thyroid function, including 86 women with various menstrual irregularities. Results. The paper describes the main types of menstrual dysfunction in women with autoimmune thyroiditis and the efficiency of infrared laser therapy. Conclusion. Thyroid exposure to infrared laser radiation is an effective treatment in patients with autoimmune thyroiditis and associated hormonal disorders and contributes to normalization of menstrual function in 75% and to elimination of infertility in 44.2% of patients with autoimmune thyroiditis.
