Objective — to investigate risk factors for genital prolapse in nulliparous women. Subject and methods. A retrospective analysis of 17,893 case histories of women who had been surgically treated in 2010 to 2016 for genital prolapse revealed the latter in 10 (0.055%) nulliparous patients. Ten nulliparous patients who had been surgically treated for various forms of genital prolapse were prospectively examined. The patients’ age ranged from 47 to 75 years. All patients were examined comprehensively: they underwent clinical and gynecological examinations, calculation of body mass index, and determination of criteria for the severity of connective tissue dysplasia. Results. Analysis of the findings showed that risk factors for genital prolapse in nulliparous women were severe manifestations of connective tissue dysplasia, which, in the presence of physical labor, menopausal overweight, lead to disruption of anatomic structures and to dysfunction of pelvic organs in women over 60 years of age. Conclusion. Timely diagnosis and therapy by eliminating the influence of adverse risk factors in patients at high risk for genital prolapse will reduce pelvic organ dysfunctions, prevent surgical treatment, and improve quality of life in this category of women.
