This investigation was undertaken to study bone and lipid metabolic disturbances in postmenopausal women according to parity: Group 1 included 90 women with 3 or more parities; Group 2 consisted of 70 patients with 1-2 parities. High parity in combination with postmenopausal hypoestrogenemia was found to give rise to significant bone metabolic disorders, worsening lipid metabolism, and increased atherogenic potential of blood lipoproteins, by determining the high risk of late metabolic complications in multiparas.
