The results of certain investigations suggest the relationship between the ga stric and duodenal lesions caused by Helicobacter pylori and the occurrence of lichen ruber planus (LRP) in oral cavity mucosa accompanied by the development of the erosive an ulcerative changes, the chronic recurring clinical course of this condition, and the poor effectiveness of therapy. The local conservative treatment is one of the main components of combined therapy, besides general therapy, for the management of LRP in oral cavity mucosa (OCM). The objective of the present study was to estimate the clinical effectiveness of the local application of a new pharmacological composition based on the ogranosilicone glycerohydrogel containing bismuth tripotassium dicitrate used for the treatment of lichen ruber planus in oral cavity mucosa associated with Helicobacter pylori infection. The study included 37 patients aged from 24 to 70 years presenting with the erosive-ulcerative form of lichen ruber planus in OCM associated with the presence of Helicobacter pylori infection. The study group 1 was comprised of 19 patients given combined therapy that included the local application of the organosilicone glycerohydrogel composition containing bismuth tripotassium dicitrate. Group 2 consisted of 18 patients managed by combined therapy with the use of the local application of cholisal gel. The study has demonstrated the high therapeutic effectiveness of the combined treatment of the erosive-ulcerative form of lichen ruber planus in oral cavity mucosa associated with Helicobacter pylori infection by means of the application of ogranosilicone glycerohydrogel containing bismuth tripotassium dicitrate.
