Fibromas of the oral cavity are benign neoplasm consisting of mature collagen fibers. Of special interest are isolated pedicled or broad-based nodules over coated with intact mucosa. Oral fibromas are localized on the inner buccal surface, labial mucosa, soft palate, gums, and tongue. Diagnostics of these tumours is based on the results of visual examination, palpation, and histological studies. The treatment of oral fibromas is reduced to their resection. It is concluded that early diagnostics and adequate treatment of such benign neoplasms as oral fibromas lower the risk of their malignization.
