Burnout syndrome (BS) is becoming an increasingly relevant problem among ENT specialists and leads not only to the deterioration of their psychological state, but also to the negative impact on the quality of their work.
To analyze the scientific data on the prevalence and severity of BS in ENT specialists.
An analysis of articles presented in the MEDLINE, EMBAS and PubMed databases for the period from 2005 to 2024 was performed. The search for material was carried out according to the following keywords: emotional burnout, otorhinolaryngologist, othorhinolaryngology, medical workers, professional stress, psycho-emotional state (in Russian and English).
Differences in the prevalence and severity of BS among ENT specialists in different countries have been revealed. The key risk factors for the BS formation in doctors of this specialty have been described.
BS is found widely among ENT specialists around the world, that makes it necessary to perform a more detailed study of this phenomenon and the conditions which contribute to its development.
