INTRODUCTION
Digital technologies in healthcare (DTH) are used in various fields of medical, educational and analytical activities, contributing, under certain conditions, to the high quality of medical care to the population.
THE PURPOSE OF THE REVIEW
To present data on challenges, problems and approaches to DTH enhancement.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
The review of articles, manuals and strategic documents on the challenges, problems and approaches to DTH enhancement published in accessible citation databases over the past 10 years has been conducted. The search for the relevant materials review was carried out by the profile keywords or their combinations used.
RESULTS
Among the data on the DTH challenges, researchers note: achieving coordination and management of the medical care process providing; creating conditions for the continuous professional education; patients involvement in diseases self-control; access to medical data to assess the adherence of healthcare professionals to modern clinical recommendations, achievements in medical science and practice, etc. At the same time, problems may arise in the process of DTH related to the lack of investment analytics and weak legislative and regulatory framework, high risk of cybercrime, shortage of professional staff, lack of access to high-quality technical equipment and software, high-speed Internet and online networks. Making strategic decisions to standardize or systematize modern, evidence-based methods of a high-quality public health care along with public participation, regulatory and political support for a coordinated approach to personnel, technical and financial assurance will contribute to solving problems, DTH efficiency and enhancement.
CONCLUSION
Effective DTH in the Russian Federation and other countries will become the basis for achieving not only their own goals, but also the Sustainable Development Goals at the country, regional and global levels.
