Nutritional structure is one of the leading factors determining the quality of life. In addition nutritional standards are the starting point in the formation of social policy of the state which makes it necessary to regularly revise them from the point of modern ideas about rational nutrition in various climatic and geographical zones.
OBJECTIVE
Compare the actual diet of residents of the Magadan region with the standard values; make recommendations on changing the set of food products included in the consumer basket for the main socio-demographic groups of the population.
MATERIAL AND METHODS
The assessment of the minimum food basket and the actual structure of food consumption in the region were carried out using the ASPON-food program (St. Petersburg). The calculation of the actual diet was made on the basis of a sample survey of households (Rosstat) on the structure of consumer spending.
RESULTS
It was found that the average energy value of the actual daily diet in the region is 15% less than the standard values. In the actual diet, deficiencies of vitamins b-car, B2, B9, D, H, K and minerals Ca, I, Zn are expressed. At the same time, the normative minimum set of products is characterized by a deficiency of omega-3 PUFAs and a low level of vitamins B2, B9, D, H, K and minerals Ca, I.
CONCLUSION
Changes in the structure of employment that have taken place over the past decades, as well as the automation of production reduce the requirements for the consumption of calories by the working-age population relative to the normative minimum indicators for the territories of the Far North. At the same time, a deficit in a number of macro- and micronutrients was found in the daily diet. As recommendations, it was proposed to revise the minimum food basket in the direction of reducing the share of simple carbohydrates, increasing the amount of by-products, fish and seafood, as well as adding the category of fresh greens to it, which will eliminate the deficit in basic micro- and macronutrients.
