Objective — to assess the prevalence of behavioral risk factors, the influence of the school and family environment among overweight adolescents to form a set of preventive measures. Material and methods. Behavioral risk factors were studied among 761 schoolchildren in the Sverdlovsk Region at the age of 11—15 years, according to the materials of the questionnaire, which includes questions from the international questionnaire «Health behavior of children of school age». Student's t-test, chi-square test were used. Results. 24.6% of adolescents were overweight, obesity — 8.3%, more boys (12.8%) than girls (4.3%), by the age of 15 years there is a decrease in the prevalence of overweight, more so in girls. Compared to the control group, overweight adolescents are less physically active, more likely to break their diet, do not eat breakfast on weekdays, have more snacks and sleep disorders. Overweight students were more likely to experience anxiety, depression, loneliness, felt the burden of school pressure, less often felt happy. Boys more often than girls experienced irritability, nervousness, headaches. Adolescents from low-income families more often than peers from wealthy families were overweight, noted less physical activity, less often used fruit and vegetables. A high prevalence of aggression among overweight schoolchildren was established, so half of the adolescents became victims of bullying, and one in four were subjected to cyberbulling, 20% themselves were scolding their classmates, much more often boys. Conclusion. The problem of overweight in adolescents is multidisciplinary in nature, involving the participation of specialists of different profiles. Adolescents need to inculcate not only the right eating habits, stimulate physical activity, but also form psychological attitudes, including through the creation of a favorable comfortable psychological climate in the family and peer group.
