The authors determined health losses due to untimely death from cerebrovascular diseases (CVD) in the population of Ufa and showed that there were 13.9 and 30.3% reductions in life and labor potentials, respectively. The greatest reductions in life and labor potential losses were ascertained to be related to CVD deaths rather than all-cause deaths. There was a more significant decrease in the life potential of the able-bodied population than in that of the older people (by 27.7% vs 11.1%). The prevented economic losses due to CVD death were found to be 102.6 million rubles. The reduction in health losses characterizes the socioeconomic efficiency of health organizational measures to improve medical care delivery to patients with cerebrovascular diseases.
