Abstract:

The spread of major risk factors for noncommunicable diseases was studied among the teachers of educational establishments in the Vologda Region. The data of the study were used to elaborate and introduce an interdepartmental program to promote health and to prevent diseases among educational workers on-site. The first preliminary results of this program campaign demonstrated positive changes in temporary disability rates, awareness of risk factors for noncommunicable diseases, and physical activity in the workers.
