Preeclampsia (PE), being a specific pregnancy disorder, remains the leading cause of maternal, fetal, and neonatal mortality. In this review, using molecular genetic research methods, the variants of the course of PE are analyzed. On the basis of the molecular method of systems biology with the help of «omics» technologies, the main mechanisms and clinical phenotypes of PE have been identified. Identification of early pathways of maternal placental disease through studies of maternal blood proteomics and placental transcriptomics have shown that their interaction influences the clinical presentation of PE.
