ABSTRACT Endometriosis is a process associated with the displacement of endometrial tissue to extrauterine locations on morphological and functional characteristics similar to endometrium. It affects approximately 10% of women of reproductive age, causing considerable health problems and worsening reproductive outcomes. Infertility and pelvic pain, associated with endometriosis is global socioeconomic problem. There is no consensus about etiology, pathogenesis and methods of early detection this disease. Many studies of the molecular and genetic mechanisms responsible for the development of endometriosis promote the discovery of new aspects of the pathogenesis of endometriosis and help in the development of minimally invasive diagnostic methods. But so far laparoscopy remains the gold standard for the diagnosis of endometriosis. The discovery of a sufficiently sensitive and specific biomarker for the nonsurgical detection of endometriosis promises earlier diagnosis and prevention disease at an early stage. The analysis of the available researches of noninvasive diagnostic biomarkers of endometriosis in various biological environments will be presented in this review.
