Endometriosis occurs in 15% of women of reproductive age. Most of the data allows us to speak about the increased risk of ovarian cancer in this group of patients. Endometriosis-associated tumors are most often represented by the endometrioid and clear-cell subtype of the cancer, the smaller proportion are seromucinous tumors. The genetic and molecular factors, underlying the malignant transformation of the endometriosis, are discussed in this review.
