According to the world health organization, the number infected by human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is growing every year — primary morbidity in Russia in the last 10 years has increased almost in 3 times. To date, the HIV infection of the population was 502 at 1000 thousand people. The proportion of infected women among all registered in the Russian Federation is 36,6%, the maximal incidence was registered among women in the age group 25—34 years. However, the human immunodeficiency virus today, is not perceived as a fatal condition, and therapeutically it is a manageable chronic disease, social status of infected is high. Therefore, their desire to have children is natural. But about 15% of them can’t have a spontaneous pregnancy. The majority of authors note the increased frequency of pathology of ejaculate in seropositive men, which can cause lack of pregnancy in serodiscordant or concordant HIV couples. There are different points of view on the problem of gynecological pathology in HIV-positive women, which may be the cause of reproductive problems of this category of women. As a result, HIV-infection couples are increasingly seeking assisted reproductive technologies. But the effectiveness of the programmes in this category of patients is characterized by the significantly lower ongoing pregnancy rate. Thus, according to different sources the effectiveness of progmammes in HIV-infected couples is not more than 10%. There is no consensus of authors on the issue of reproductive failures. One of the reasons of unsuccessful IVF attempts in this category of women is considered to be the development of specific endometritis, not amenable to standard therapy. Therefore development of special algorithms for managing this category of patients is required.
