Objectives. To assess the level of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in endometrial hyperplasia, polyps, endometrial cancer in different age periods on a system and local levels. Material and methods. We examined a total of 351 cases (n=53) simple endometrial hyperplasia without cytological atypia - group 1, group 2 (n=42), simple endometrial hyperplasia without cytological atypia - group 3 (n=38), glandular endometrial polyps - group 4 (n=30), glandular-finrous endometrial polys - group 5 (n=46), endometrial carcinoma - group 6 (n=13), 51 cases in reproductive age with endometrium of the early proliferative phase - the 1 control group, 45 cases in premenopausal age with endometrium of the early proliferative phase - the 2 control group, 33 cases in postmenopausal age with atrophy of endometrium - the 3 control group). Results. We found that the VEGF concentration, is significantly higher at the local level in patients with endometrial hyperplasia, polyps, endometrial cancer in comparison with healthy women (р<0,001). The level of VEGF in aspirate from the uterus cavity is significantly higher in compared with blood serum in endometrial hyperplasia, polyps, endometrial cancer (р<0,001). Conclusion. The VEGF concentration is significantly higher at the local level (aspirate from the uterine cavity) in endometrial hyperplasia, polyps, endometrial cancer in comparison with healthy women; the VEGF determination in the uterus aspirate may become a significant prognostic sign of endometrial hyperplasia and endometrial polyps.
