Abstract:

At the request of Professor Stephen Carmichael, Vice-President of the IFAA, and the address to colleagues by Shane Tubbs, President of the FICSP, the paper familiarizes with the overview of foreign colleagues’ experience with anatomical quality assurance. The paper presents the current approach to planning, arranging, and conducting morphology researches, which is based on the generalization of world experience. The approach has been developed by the Steering Committee (leading experts) and named AQUA (Anatomical Quality Assurance). Despite the fact that AQUA is a recommendation, the use of this tool in planning, performing, and preparing the reports of morphology researches in combination with an algorithm for expert evaluation and calculation of the degree of risk, including at the planning stage, will be able to ensure the proper quality of morphological studies and may help raise them to a new level.
