Abstract:

The concept of mediastinal tumors includes neoplasms of variable morphology, which originate from heterogeneous tissues combined into one conditional group of neoplasias only according to their anatomical region. The lecture characterizes the anatomic and radiologic boundaries of the mediastinum, taking into account up-to-date radiation diagnostic techniques, gives data on the incidence of neoplasms of this localization, and considers the clinical anatomical and morphological classifications of mediastinal neoplasias and the 8th revision of the international classification for thymic tumors according to their stages and the TNM staging system.
